The Role

Hybrid Working Requirement: Candidates should be flexible to attend our Marousi, Athens office 3 times per week. Please note that travel or commuting expenses will not be covered for candidates residing outside Attiki or outside a reasonable commuting distance.

We are seeking a highly versatile, technically advanced, and commercially astute Forward Deployed AI Value Engineer to join our centralized AI Value Realization team.

In this elite, high-impact role, you will act as a technical and strategic powerhouse, operating directly on the front lines with XTM’s largest enterprise customers and prospects. You will own the entire lifecycle of our AI capabilities—from initial value definition and custom Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to advanced workflow deployment and continuous optimization.

This is not a traditional support or back-office engineering role. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will combine deep technical expertise in AI/LLMs with the consultative skills required to redesign localization workflows for global brands, drastically reducing Time-to-Value (TTV).

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End AI Value Delivery & PoCs

• Proof of Concept Ownership: Design, build, and technical-validate custom AI-driven localization workflows during the pre-sales and expansion phases to outmaneuver competition.
• Deployment & Integration: Lead the technical onboarding and deployment of XTM’s AI features, ensuring seamless integration via APIs with clients' existing content management systems (CMS) and data pipelines.
• Value Definition: Partner with clients at the onset to map their baseline metrics (e.g., translation memory leverage, MT edit distance, cost-per-word, turnaround times) and align XTM’s AI capabilities with their strategic business goals.

2. Workflow Consulting & Change Management

• Workflow Engineering: Audit clients' legacy localization setups and architect automated, AI-first workflows within XTM (leveraging advanced AI matching, automated tagging, and LLM capabilities).
• Enterprise Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor, guiding enterprise localization teams through the operational change management required to transition to AI-augmented translation models.

3. Continuous Optimization & Feedback Loop

• Adoption & Enhancement: Monitor post-onboarding feature utilization, proactively identifying opportunities to tune AI models, refine prompts, and unlock deeper ROI for the customer.
• R&D Linchpin: Act as the direct, unfiltered feedback loop between customer production realities and XTM’s Product/R&D teams, channeling real-world edge cases into core product enhancement.

Requirements

Core AI Competencies & "Natural Curiosity"

• Deep AI Literacy: A profound, self-driven interest in the evolution of Artificial Intelligence. You don't just use AI; you understand how Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and neural machine translation (NMT) operate under the hood.
• Continuous Learning: A proven track record of experimenting with new AI tools, models, and frameworks outside of formal job requirements.

Technical Skills

• API & Integration Expertise: Strong hands-on experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and modern data formats (JSON, XML).
• Scripting & Data Analysis: Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages to manipulate localization data (TMX, XLIFF), automate tasks, or analyze performance datasets.
• Localization Tech Context (Highly Preferred): Familiarity with Translation Management Systems (TMS), Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, or modern localization workflows is a significant advantage.

Client-Facing & Commercial Acumen

• Consultative Communication: Ability to confidently present complex technical AI architecture to engineering teams, while seamlessly pivoting to explain business ROI to C-level executives.
• Problem-Solving Agility: A "hacker" mindset—capable of finding creative technical workarounds to unblock clients and close deals faster.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Time-to-Value (TTV): Reduction in days from contract signature/AI feature enablement to active production usage.
• AI Feature Adoption Rate: Month-over-Month increase in utilization of automated and AI features across assigned accounts.
• PoC Win Rate: Technical success rate of pre-sales AI validations.
• Customer Satisfaction: Achieving a 95%+ CSAT/CES floor for AI deployment and enablement interactions.
